At the time of this event, some Scala executives were still unfamiliar with the Internet. The purpose of this site was to introduce busy conference attendees to the Internet in an entertaining and useful way. Since the conference, the Internet has become an important part of Scala's corporate communications, as well as being integrated into their software products. (see the Scala JobBank) - Each attendee received an e-mail address for the conference, available through a web interface - The site also contained the conference agenda, speaker biographies, forums, and links to other relevant sites - E-mail interface was extremely popular - Conference organizers encouraged use of the site by passing on all personal messages and announcements over it
