NetStart is a free, Hungarian-language Internet training course, conducted via e-mail and the web, with content developed by iSYS Hungary and P-K4. Users first register for NetStart by filling out a survey form. The first lesson is then sent out by e-mail. After reading the lesson, the user goes to a web page to complete a brief test. If the user passes the lesson, the next e-mail lesson is sent out the following day. The entire course consists of 18 lessons and tests and is conducted twice a year.     Based on information obtained via the registration form, access speed and browser software used by students varied widely. The design is intentionally straightforward to allow for these variables, though it belies NetStart's elegant back-end programming. - NetStart server tracks each user with cookies in order to serve the correct test page - Banner advertisements can be targeted based on users answers to survey - NetStart is now being developed to run in other languages and for other markets - Over 5,000 participants and growing
